  3. I am reading Devil at my Heels by Louis Zamperini. The book is very inspiring and talks from real experience which makes it even more interesting. I am halfway throughout the book and one of my favourite quotes is "I made myself a promise, no matter what lay ahead, I'd never think about dying, only about living." I can't wait to read the rest of the book

  4. Right now, the book I am reading is the namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri. From what I have read of the book, it seems to be a refreshing take on the life of an Indian immigrant in the USA.

  5. I am currently reading a collection of short stories by Rudyard Kipling. The book contains about forty stories, each around three pages long. I have read five stories so far, and it is very interesting to see India through the perspective of an Anglo-Indian during the time of colonization.

  6. The book I am currently reading is "The Beautiful and the Damned" by Siddhartha Deb. The book is about life in new India. Through this book, Deb portrays how even though life in India is changing at a fast pace, there are still some social issues such as corruption which daunt society today.

  7. I am readying 'The Algebra of Infinite Justice' by Arundathi Roy. Her writing reflects her fiction, and meanders between polemic and sentiment. I am really enjoying this book because it has a significant contribution to the international debate. She addresses relatable subjects such as terrorism, globalisation, nuclear disarmament, global capitalism. Furthermore, she includes a formidable defence of her right to express her views. I am really looking forward to continue reading this book.

  8. The book I am reading this month is Berlin Noir by the British author Philip Kerr. This book is a collection of three novels written by Kerr about the adventures of a German private investigator, Bernhard Gunther. The novels are set in the 1930s in Nazi Germany. The plot of the first novel, March Violets, is thoroughly gripping. The novels show the kind of life people lived in Germany during Hitler's rule and the different classes of people in the country at that time.
This book is a must read for anyone who loves historical thrillers and also for anyone wanting to develop a taste for them.

  9. Currently I'm reading 'Six degrees of Separation', which is an amusing play however, the beginning of this book is a bundle of confusion. I feel as though I know everything yet nothing. The play so far has managed to grip me really well, I look forward to reading it!

  10. For the past few weeks I have been reading 'Anna Karenina.' It is a beautiful book and more importantly simple to read. Leo Tolstoy through his simple writing has been able to bring out all the nitty gritty's of relationships.
"All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way."This quote from the book stands out as the whole message nucleates around it.
This book grabs the readers attention as soon as he starts reading. So I would urge everyone to add it to their reading list.

  13. I have been reading 'Maus' and I've really been enjoying the graphic novel. It seems to be about Hitler's rule and the holocaust. One particular aspect of the book which I found interesting is that the mice are depicted as Jews and the cats are the Nazi's. This gives me a really broad perspective on the relationship between the two. I am debating if I should continue the book or not.

  14. I am reading 'The White Tiger' by 'Aravind Adiga'. This is a very simple but interesting book. It is about a man named Ashok writing a letter to the Chinese Premier before his Excellency's visit to Banglore. I am really excited to read this book further ahead.

  15. The book I am reading is the Kite Runner by Khaled Housseini. The book revolves around the relationship of a boy from an affluent family, Amir, and his lower caste servant, Hassan before the Russians invaded Afghanistan. The book takes a dramatic turn due to many events: a mishap involving Hassan, war and the takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban.

  16. The book that I just completed is called 'American Born Chinese" which is a graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang. In spite of the main ideas being displayed visually, the book perfectly addresses the stereotypes that one usually associates with being Chinese and also incorporates the Chinese folk tale of the Monkey King. In a subtle manner, the readers gain awareness about how particular aspects such as intellect, eating manners and behaviour do not define the Chinese race as a whole.
