National Theatre: Medea today

  1. This video encapsulates the broad perspective on the universality of Euripides's depiction of the human condition, where in revenge and insanity are parallel to sacrifice and morality.
As a reader one begins to question oneself as to, like mentioned in this video, what leads Medea to such extremes? It is very difficult to be in Medeas position. It is easy for one to say that one would not do what Medea did. Is it justified for one to claim that, the protagonist , Medea is a villain. However until one goes through the extreme pain which Medea did it is not right to claim that her actions are not justified.
