Postmodernism and Modernism
Postmodernism and Modernism - postmodernism denies the idea of one major narrative which 'explains' the human condition and even history itself. There are many micro narratives.

King Lear - BBC Shakespeare Collection
Suggestion: use this video as an audio soundtrack while you read the actual text in your book. Pause as you need to do so and annotate your book.
"King Lear" is not difficult - the language is wonderful, use your eye to read and ear to listen. Michael Hordern is powerful and clear as "King Lear".

O Me! O Life! by Walt Whitman : The Poetry Foundation
O Me! O Life! by Walt Whitman : The Poetry Foundation
BY WALT WHITMAN
Source: Leaves of Grass (1892)
O Me! O Life!
Oh me! Oh life! of the questions of these recurring,
Of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities fill’d with the foolish,
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of the objects mean, of the struggle ever renew’d,
Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me,
Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest me intertwined,
The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life?
Answer.
That you are here—that life exists and identity,
That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.

Sweet Delight, Endless Night - William Blake
"every night and every morn,
some to misery are born.
every morn and every night,
some are born to sweet delight.
some are born to sweet delight,
some are born to endless night."
William Blake.
Literature and TOK help us join the dots between different areas of knowledge and I hope you enjoy this piece of music inspired by a poem written long ago. William Blake still inspires many today.
