ROADMAP AND COURSE TARGETS AUGUST 2013

Target 1.
COMPLETION OF WORLD LITERATURE ESSAY begun by you and Ms Asha.
This is independent student work and is worth 25% of your total marks in the whole course. Failure to meet school deadlines as published in the academic calendar will be referred to the Principal.

Target 2. Focus of class teaching in August. Wilfred Owen.

IOC - BUILDING YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  1. PREPARATION FOR IOC - INDIVIDUAL ORAL COMMENTARY.
  2. Study of Rubric of Assessment.
  3. KEY TEXT FOR ALL HL STUDENTS (MS Asha/Mr C):
  • WILFRED OWEN'S POETRY - SEE PAGES ON THIS BLOG 
  • ALL STUDENTS WILL BE EXAMINED AND RECORDED ON ONE OF OWEN'S POEMS.
  • Part 2 of the Oral will be a discussion on these texts -
  • SHAKESPEARE OTHELLO
  • MARTIN LUTHER KING "I HAVE A DREAM" and other key speeches.
Target 3. Some classes on  Literary Theory and how it can support your final draft of the World Lit Essay and inform your response to texts in all parts of the course.
